(Pronounced Ben-uh-deh-toe)

I am a Postdoctoral Fellow providing therapeutic services under the supervision of Dr. Jaya Mathew.  I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Prior to joining Wellness 360, I worked with diverse clients in several settings including a medical hospital, an outpatient cancer center, and a correctional/forensic setting.

I work with clients from diverse backgrounds who experience depression, anxiety, life and relationship stress, interpersonal conflicts, trauma, and minority stress. I specialize in treating clients with comorbid medical issues (e.g., diabetes, cancer, peripartum health) or other health concerns and love to collaborate with my client’s other health providers to optimize wellbeing. I help my clients to accomplish this using evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy-informed approaches.

From my perspective, therapy is about increasing your understanding of yourself and developing skills and habits to improve your life on a day-to-day basis. This work requires vulnerability and trust between me and my clients and together, we can work towards acquiring more knowledge and skills for you to live your life in a way that is consistent with your values and deeply fulfilling.

I am a native Texan (though you won’t hear me say “y’all”) of Hispanic descent. My values include family, personal growth, being helpful to others, and being truthful and transparent in my work. When I’m not serving my clients, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling and exploring new cities, and doing home-improvement projects.
