About Dr. Currie
I am a licensed psychologist with a Ph.D in Counseling Psychology from Ball State University. I also obtained a Master of Education in Professional Counseling from The University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I have worked with adults, adolescents, and children in a variety of settings, to include community mental health, university counseling center, juvenile probation, correctional facilities, inpatient facilities, and hospitals.
I work with clients in treating a number of issues, including women's issues, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and situational stressors and adjustment concerns. I have a passion for working with diverse populations, particularly diversity issues such as Single Black Women, African American Marriage, and Black Women in Higher Education. I am also a former athlete and have additional training in the field of sport psychology.
I provide a direct and compassionate approach to therapy. My goal is create a safe and supportive environment during session to help you cope with feelings, problem solve, gain new insights, and change behavior patterns that may be causing you distress.
I've lived in the DFW area for approximately 4 years and I love brunch and traveling.
