About Dr. Cannon
I am a Postdoctoral Fellow providing therapeutic services under the supervision of Dr. Jaya Mathew. I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from University of Virginia.
I have worked in various clinical settings with diverse populations such as university community clinics, inpatient mental health facilities, correctional/forensic settings and private practice.
I provide an empathetic, compassionate strength focused approach to build insight and provoke action. My role is to help clients conquer life challenges and facilitate continuous growth. I want to help clients achieve fulfillment by breaking through blind spots and patterns and making positive healthy choices.
I help clients navigate through depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, adjustment difficulties, career stress and relationship issues. I have a special interest promoting wellness through healthy lifestyle choices such as fitness and nutrition.
I am originally from Louisiana, but I recently moved to the Dallas area from Houston. I love to eat and cook Cajun/Creole food. I am an avid yogi and also enjoy running and training for various races from 5Ks to half-marathons. I believe in the importance of giving back, thus I am involved in various organizations that provide community service.
